So this morning I drove though Starbucks on the corner of Annie Glidden and Lincoln Hwy in DeKalb to get my Peppermint Mocha courtesy of a gift card from my parents 
So I of course did what many do during their morning caffeine run…drove through while talking on the phone. I ordered, gave them my gift card and was on my way. Wow! Pretty fast I thought. I got to work and took a sip of my Peppermint Mocha. YUCK! That was NOT what I ordered! Plain coffee with what appeared to be cream is what I had. Ewwww! So caffeine-less I got to work.
When I had a minute I called Starbucks. I wasnt sure if there was a problem. A new person making drinks perhaps? Maybe something was wrong with their ingredients? Who knows.
I spoke to the manager Matt. I had said I was through the drive through this morning and had ordered a peppermint mocha and….before I could finish he said “Im so glad you called. We have your gift card here and you got the wrong order! Im so sorry!”
Wait…what did he say?
I had not even realized I left without my gift card. He knew I had the wrong drink. Wow. I told him I wasnt worried about the drink and I apologized to him. I was on the phone and obviously wasnt paying attention.This was my fault. He took my name and said he would have my gift card whenever I wanted to stop in. Completely pleasant conversation.
I stopped in a few hours later. I thanked him for having my gift card (It still had $20 on it! Thats a few Starbucks! LOL) He showed me the card and the receipt where he had credited my card back for the mocha I never received. Then he gave me a coupon for a FREE drink tomorrow ( or the next time I came in). I assured him I was NOT upset and that I owed his staff and apology. I simply wasnt paying attention this morning! I told him a free drink was not necessary. He insisted. Ok. Ill take it
I left happy! I would have been happy just to get my card back!
In all honesty…I wasnt paying attention. The cashier probably tried to flag me down or holler at me. Yeah I wasnt paying attention! Ok yes they gave me the wrong drink but I was NOT upset!
So I wanted to send out a big Northern Illinois Couponing thank you to Matt and the staff at Starbucks on Annie Glidden and Lincoln Highway in DeKalb! KUDOS for your customer service ! I take blame for this yet you made sure I was 100% happy! In this day and age customer service like that doesnt come around every day!
Stop in and see Matt and the staff! Ill be there tomorrow for Peppermint Mocha!
